An update on grants

There are a number of grants available now and it is important that you do not miss out. Business premises These grants will come from your local Council and application needs to be made on their website.  If you haven’t already registered then do this to receive their emails for when the funding will be available. There are grants for:
  • national lockdown business grant
  • discretionary grants
  • additional restrictions grant
  • business adaptations grant
There is also a Christmas support payment for ‘wet’ pubs. Job Retention Scheme This is still ongoing and has been extended until 30th April 2021. The additional £1,000 we were expecting for retaining staff is now been put on ice as the Chancellor has extended the JRS.  Whether new rules for this will come in or the payment will just disappear is yet unknown. Self-employed (SEISS) The third grant is now available and the deadline is 29th January 2021.  You can make a claim even if you didn’t make the first or second grant application.  However, there are different rules applicable and you must satisfy these new rules.  Further details can be found at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/claim-a-grant-through-the-self-employment-income-support-scheme
